safe

We're safe.  Thanks to all of you who have written to ask - Super Typhoon Haiyan is raging far enough north that we are untouched.  (Because of Haiyan, our internet speeds are very slow, so no links, no photos today.)

Because of the storm, the temps here are lower than they have been in months.  I’m savoring the refreshing, cool breeze coming in at my window, but I realize that it’s coming at a terrifying cost as the year’s largest typhoon moves through the central Philippines.  Just recovering from a brutal earthquake, the Visayan Islands are now battered by wind and rain.

We cling again to the knowledge that none of it takes God by surprise.  We know that He is in perfect control; if it weren’t for His staying hand, we would all be swept away.

We're praying for those in the Visayan Islands now, that these events will be a means to turn many hearts to the saving knowledge of God, Who is a “refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm...”  (Isaiah 25:4)

So glad to hear you are all safe! Such a scary storm though, for so many!

I'm glad you guys are okay and happy for your cooler breezes. Sad about those braving the storm though.

Thanks for letting us know that all is well with you. My prayers, too, are with those suffering from the effects of such a devastating storm.

Praise the Lord! We have been tracking the storm and praying for you. We saw that it hit the central part. Logged on tonight wondering if I could put in an inquiry about your status on Michael's trumpet post - and there you were! Thanks for the update.

We've felt so loved by all of the emails we've received, asking if we've been impacted by the storm.
THANK YOU TO EACH OF YOU...to all who have written, to all who have prayed. Thank you.

We continue to be absolutely fine...though so saddened to see and hear the depths of grief and devastation not so very far away.

We know that God's ways are perfect, and all we can do is trust His wisdom and goodness, and then be ready to help as we can.

With our love and thanks,
