Michael, Elise and Amy had the privilege of joining the elementary and middle school students for track and field events today at the school.

The events began at 7:15 a.m. to avoid some of the intensity of the heat of the day.
The first event was the 1K run.
Here Amy waits with the other runners to begin the race.

Michael finished in 3rd place, (behind two 7th and 8th grade boys)
and Amy was close behind him for 4th place.

They did other runs, Frisbee throws, and long jumps.
Here Elise runs a relay for her Green Team.

As I watched them run, I thought of a verse from a passage we've been memorizing lately...
Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.
Isaiah 40:31
and this quote from Eric Liddell:
God made me fast. And when I run, I feel His pleasure.
May we run all of life in the strength of the Lord,
and for His pleasure!
