grand design

May I share something that makes me so excited?
God has given to Elise both a passion and an ability in the use of graphic design.
She loves to mess about with text and graphics in her spare time.

And God has opened some exciting doors for her to use her skills to bless others!

Yesterday she met here at the house with a team of our co-workers to review the first draft of a 12-page brochure they asked her to design for their project.
Elise used several programs in tandem to create the finished product; a graphics program, a photo editing program, and a desktop publishing program.

Though we're not free to show you the brochure she came up with here,
I can show you just a sample of her work below.

I'm so excited to see you use your gifts and abilities for God's glory,
Elise, even in your youth!

"In 1 Timothy 4:12, the Apostle Paul tells Timothy,
"Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example
in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity."

In other words, as young people we are called to be exemplary in all areas of life.
Our generation is falling incredibly short of that calling.
Instead of serving as the launching pad of life,
the teen years are seen as a vacation from responsibility.
We call it the "myth of adolescence."

This is so COOL Elise! To be able to use the thing you love to help further the cause of Christ! What a blessing to have found something you are passionate about that can be so useful--at such a young age! Keep up the good work!
